A small amount of temporary technology helps secure forms, sessions and administration work properly.
Cookie Policy
Keeping cookies
simple.
Rememoir does not want to follow people around the internet. We use a small amount of website technology where it is needed to keep things working safely and smoothly, and we want to be clear about what it does.
We do not intentionally use advertising or behavioural tracking cookies on the public Rememoir website.
If we introduce something non-essential that needs your permission, we will ask first.
01
What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of information that a website can store on your device. They can be used for many different purposes — for example, keeping a secure session working, remembering a choice, or measuring how a website is used.
Similar rules can apply to other website technology that stores information on, or accesses information from, your device.
To keep this page readable, we use the word “cookies” for cookies and similar website technology together.
02
What Rememoir currently uses
Some parts of Rememoir need to recognise the same browser for a short time — for example, while a secure form is being submitted or an authorised administrator is signed in. This may use a temporary session cookie.
We use this type of session functionality for purposes such as:
- helping protect forms from unauthorised submissions;
- remembering a form result safely while you move between pages;
- keeping the private Rememoir administration area signed in securely;
- supporting security and functions needed for a service you have asked us to provide.
We do not want to add tracking simply because the technology exists. If something is not useful to Rememoir or its customers, we would rather leave it out.
03
Technology the website needs
Some website technology is genuinely necessary for a service to work or stay secure. UK rules allow certain essential technology to be used without asking for consent first where the relevant legal exception applies.
That can include things needed for security, signing in or remembering information required to provide a service you have asked for.
Where we rely on that kind of exception, we use the technology for the necessary purpose. We do not treat it as a reason to add unrelated tracking.
04
Analytics and advertising
Rememoir does not currently use advertising cookies, behavioural tracking cookies or social-media tracking pixels on the public website.
We also do not currently use non-essential cookie-based analytics on the public Rememoir website.
If we later introduce analytics, advertising, personalisation or another non-essential technology that requires consent, we will update this page and give you the appropriate choice before using it.
05
Services from other providers
We may sometimes use another provider to help with a website feature or service. In some cases, that provider's technology may store or access information on your device.
Before adding anything like that, we will consider what it does, whether we need it, whether your permission is required and what we should tell you about it.
Specialist services used to help us process customer photographs are explained separately in our Privacy Policy. A service helping us create your Rememoir is not automatically the same thing as tracking your browser.
06
Your choices
Your browser normally lets you inspect, block or delete cookies and clear stored website data.
If you block something that is genuinely needed for a requested function, that part of the website may not work properly. For example, a secure signed-in session needs the browser to retain the session information required to keep it active.
If Rememoir starts using non-essential technology that requires consent, we will give you the appropriate choice on the website rather than relying only on your browser settings.
07
If this policy changes
We will review this Cookie Policy as Rememoir develops and when website technology changes.
If we materially change the cookies or similar technologies we use, we will update this page and, where required, ask for consent before using new non-essential technology.
